The New York Historical Society

The New York Historical Society was the first museum ever established in NYC; it opened in 1804. The NYHS has a collection rooted in American history and art, with exhibits on display focusing on Alexander Hamilton, George Washington, the U.S. Constitution, and Abraham Lincoln.
