The Museum of the City of New York, founded in 1923 by Henry Collins Brown, has a mission to preserve and share the history of the Big Apple and its inhabitants. The museum was originally located inside Gracie Mansion, the home of NYC's mayor. MCNY honors New York's history and the people who make the city special.
