The Morgan Library and Museum in NYC is home to J.P. Morgan's private library. In 1966, more than 40 years after it became a public institution, the Morgan Library was designated both a New York City and a National Historic Landmark. The Morgan Library houses works from artists and writers to include Michelangelo, Raphael, Rembrandt, Picasso, Leonardo, Charles Dickens, Henry David Thoreau, Mozart, Charlotte Brontë, and Vincent van Gogh.
